                                                        Massage Therapy Types

Therapeutic Massage (aka Deep Tissue or Medical): A combination of firm but responsive pressure (may be uncomfortable but not painful) and focused techniques. Used to help alleviate pain, discomfort, and restrictions associated with soft tissue medical ailments, injuries, and difficulties. Focused work on primary areas of concern, with the intention on releasing the deeper soft tissues of the body. Regular sessions encouraged. Slight soreness/tautness may occur during or following the beginning session(s); this effect should subside in duration and intensity with each additional session as the muscle memory is reconditioned.

Relaxation Massage (aka Classic Swedish or Pampering): Light to moderate pressure and rhythmic techniques are used over the body to bring relaxation and a sense of pampered ease. The intention is on the more superficial tissues of the body; as well as facilitating blood and lymph movement. May help activate the parasympathetic nervous system to regulate breathing, decrease blood pressure, and lower heart rate; as well as help bring a sense of inner calm and peace. Warm lava stones and/or hot towels available by advance request.

Acupressure Massage (aka Pressure Point):*Available by Request Only, just leave me a note in the Online Scheduler. No undressing is required- ideal for children, seniors, newbies to massage, or those with limited mobility; as well as those uncomfortable undressing for more traditional massage therapy. Light to moderate pressure. Acupressure as well as compression and kneading techniques are used. May help alleviate aches, pains, and restrictions associated with soft tissue ailments, injuries, and difficulties.
